Vehicle Inspection Frequently Asked Questions

Pre-Purchase Inspections

Our pre-purchase inspection is a choice for those who have already chosen their perfect car. You would need to provide the vehicle details to us and we will carry out an inspection at the seller’s address (or in another agreed place) in order to assess the condition of the car. We will then report all the findings and defects to you in a comprehensive and easy to read inspection report. All you need to do after that is to decide whether you are happy to buy the car or not. Moreover, our report can be a valid proof for the negotiation of the price of the vehicle.

Pre-Sale Inspection

This will greatly help you to prove your car conditions to any potential buyer and to boost the sale.

Post-Purchase Inspection

Provides a mechanical, structural and component check to confirm problems or mechanical faults after you’ve bought the vehicle.

Our Pre-Purchase Inspection Report includes:

A mobile inspection service at the location you want and when you want.

Our reports are designed to clearly inform you of the mechanical and cosmetic condition of the car you are interested in.

Competitive prices and a thorough inspection.

Paint thickness measurement to discover any hidden damage and previous repairs.

A detailed report with images is emailed to our customers the same day and a verbal phone call to discuss the inspection findings is carried out straight after completion of the inspection.

A qualified vehicle inspection is highly recommended prior to buying a used car from a dealer or private seller. By securing an inspection, you will remove the stress from purchasing a new car, ensuring your money is being well spent on a worthy vehicle. Our specialists deliver thorough, comprehensive inspections to highlight damaged cars, mechanical or cosmetic faults and expensive repairs.

Our comprehensive vehicle inspections vary depending on the vehicle in question. Each inspection is a visual, non-intrusive inspection which usually covers the following:
• Bodywork and exterior
• Brakes
• Wheels and tyres
• Front and rear suspension
• Steering
• Clutch
• Mechanical and structural
• Underbody
• Interior
• Electrical, main functions and controls
• Engine compartment
• Transmission
• Exhaust system
• Fuel system
• Road test of up to 10 miles

Due to the visual, non-intrusive nature of our vehicle inspections, we do not cover various elements. These include:
• Dismantling, removing or disconnecting any vehicle part
• Vehicle electrics
• Oil and fuel consumption
• Sources of oil leaks
• Mileage accuracy
• Multimedia systems or sat navs
• Cylinder compression
• Air-conditioning function and efficiency
• Exhaust emissions and/or catalytic converters

Our vehicle inspections usually take between two and three hours. The time can vary depending on the type of vehicle and its condition.

Our specialists ideally like to test drive the vehicle whenever possible. This test drive usually lasts for up to 10 miles and is important to inspect and assess the mechanical components of the car. The vehicle must have a valid MOT

You can be present for the inspection if you wish, but it is not essential. Following the inspection, you will receive a detailed report via email.

On immediate completion of the inspection, our experts will deliver a verbal inspection over the phone. This will be followed up by a detailed written inspection provided via email, which includes photos of the vehicle.
